Overview
Developed land on the surrounding lake shoreline can affect the water quality in a lake.
The most important aspect of maintaining a healthy lake is understanding the relationship
between the lake’s water quality and the surrounding land cover. What happens on the
land will ultimately run off into the lake’s water. Check out

to mitigate runoff that degrades water quality and keep your lake healthy!
About the Data
Lake shoreline land cover was calculated by examining the land cover surrounding the lake
within a 90 meters (~ 300 feet) buffer. The
NOAA Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP)
1-meter high resolution 2016 land cover dataset
was used to derive land cover percentages within the lake shoreline.
